Open for Dogs is the Kennel Club’s campaign to break down barriers for dogs and their owners. It actively encourages more businesses to become dog friendly, by welcoming dogs and their owners.

The Open for Dogs web site (powered by Dogfriendly) is designed for responsible dog owners who want to go on holiday and want to take their dog (or dogs!) with them. Once on holiday you will of course want to go out – and take your dog with you. With the Open for Dogs website, you can search for dog friendly hotels, cottages, camping and caravanning sites, pubs, days out and in case of an emergency, you can also search for vets and dog wardens.

Bullet Arrow What are the Open for Dogs Awards?
The Open for Dogs Awards form part of the Kennel Club’s Open for Dogs campaign and aim to recognize the most dog friendly businesses and venues across the UK.

Bullet Arrow Do I have to pay for full membership
You don’t have to pay for membership to access basic details on all the dog friendly businesses, however keeping the databases up to date costs money. Dogfriendly’s staff telephone every partner on the site at least once a year to ensure that the records are absolutely accurate and the membership fee helps cover these costs.

This is because your membership has expired. To upgrade please login into your account, then click on upgrade.

Bullet Arrow Can I recommend a dog friendly venue?
Yes, most definitely. We encourage members to recommend dog friendly venues. Simply email details of your recommendation to: sales@dogfriendly.co.uk. Or simply go on to put forward a nomination for the annual Open for Dog Awards held in November.

Bullet Arrow What is the difference between Full Membership and Guest Membership?
Guest membership enables you to search basic details on all of the databases. If you would like to find out more about each venue, then you will need to upgrade your membership to Full Membership.

Bullet Arrow Can I advertise a dog friendly event on the web site?
Yes we welcome advertisements for Dogfriendly events on our web site. We do not charge for this service. Please email details of the dog friendly event to: sales@dogfriendly.co.uk

Yes. A member of the Dogfriendly team will contact you to talk you through a short questionnaire, which enables us to provide even more details about our Open for Dogs venues to dog owners ‘and dog friendly venues’. Nothing else is required of you and we hope that you will see increased custom and great feedback from dog owners who use our site.
